How to download a Dailymotion video
- On Dailymotion, tap Share under the video and copy the link, or copy the address of the video page.

Quality and formats
Dailymotion delivers its videos as a stream split into short pieces rather than as one file. When you pick a resolution, OpenDown collects the pieces and copies them into one MP4 on its server, without re-encoding, so the picture is exactly what Dailymotion streams.
The list shows every resolution Dailymotion streams for the video. Sizes are estimated from the stream's bitrate, so the saved file can be slightly larger or smaller.
Preparing the file takes longer for longer videos, and progress is shown while it runs.
Links that cannot be downloaded
- Private and password-protected videos: Dailymotion does not show them to everyone.
- Removed videos: the link no longer leads to a video.
- Videos blocked by country: Dailymotion allows them only in some countries.
- Live streams: OpenDown does not support them.
- Playlist and channel links: open one video and copy its link.
Saving on iPhone and Android
- iPhone and iPad: Safari saves the file to the Downloads folder in the Files app. To add a video to Photos, open it in Files, tap Share, then Save Video.
- Android: Chrome saves the file to the Downloads folder, and most gallery apps show it there.
- Computer: the file goes to your browser's usual download folder.

Why does the download take a while?
Dailymotion streams video in short pieces, and OpenDown has to collect all of them into one MP4 first. Progress is shown while it runs, and longer videos take longer.
Why is the saved file a different size?
For Dailymotion, the size shown before you download is an estimate based on the stream's bitrate. The real file is usually close to it.
Is the video re-encoded?
No. The pieces are copied into an MP4 file as they are, so the quality stays exactly as Dailymotion streams it.
Can I download a whole playlist?
