Terms of use
OpenDown is a free tool for downloading media from public links. Using it means you accept these terms.
What OpenDown provides
OpenDown takes a link you paste and returns the files the platform serves for that post. It does not host content, and it is not affiliated with any of the platforms it works with.
It is free, needs no account, and is provided as it is, without any warranty.
The privacy page explains how data is handled.
Your responsibility
Content is not hosted by OpenDown, and downloading it does not give you any rights over it. You are responsible for having the right to download what you save, for example because it is your own upload, its owner allows it, or the law where you live permits it.
Each platform's own terms of service still apply to you when you download from it.
Acceptable use
- Do not send requests with bots or scripts.
- Do not try to get around rate limits or security checks.
- Requests that look automated or abusive may be slowed down or blocked.
Availability
- Platforms change without notice, so a link that works today may fail tomorrow.
- Prepared files are deleted automatically, usually within a few hours, and download links expire. Save your file when it is ready.
- OpenDown may change, limit or stop the service, or any part of it, at any time.
For rights holders
OpenDown does not host content and keeps no permanent copies: prepared files are deleted automatically, usually within a few hours. To have the content itself removed, report it to the platform that publishes it.
To ask OpenDown to block content, email copyright@opendown.com with:
- The link to the content, such as the link that was pasted into OpenDown.
- The work it concerns.
- A statement that you own the rights or act for the owner.
- How to reach you.
Each request is reviewed. When it is complete and valid, the content is blocked so OpenDown no longer processes it, and you get a reply by email. If you think content was blocked by mistake, write to the same address with the link and the reason, and it will be reviewed again.
